Drip-off coating effect is a popular enhancement finish with fantastic optical effect to the printings and packagings.
Conventional process of drip-off UV coating:
Drip-off effect is caused by the interactions between a liquid and solid surfaces.
A special-effect print varnish (that is a matte effect primer) is applied in the final printing unit of printing press to the areas that are to have a matt appearance. It is applied partially. Next, the inline or offline coating unit is used to apply a conventional full-area high-gloss coating (that is top coating) that drips off the areas previously given a matt coating. This maintains the matt effect of these areas and gives the remaining areas a gloss surface.
The drip-off process will produce an eye-catching solution to achieve matte and gloss or repellent effects for brands products display.
