Brief introduction & guidelines of UV & Aqueous roller coater

This is a brief introduction and guideline of Xindecheng UV & Aqueous coater machines mainly for printing and packaging industry application.

UV Coating or aqueous coating(primer coating) is a surface treatment process pre-printing or post-printing.

It can be a sheetfed or webfed coating machine.

Why do I need Primer coating before printing?
The materials for Indigo press or inkjet press has low surface tensions causing them to be non-receptive to bonding with printing ink. After primer coating, it will increase the surface tensions(higher dyne value) such bring better printing quality. For more information, please click here…

Why do I need UV coating or aqueous coating after printing?
The UV coating and aqueous coating will bring a layer of compound to bring special finish and protection to the printings then bring more value and profit to the printings. What applications can the coating machine do?
Our roller coating machine has one UV lamp and three IR lamps, so it can do:

What is the Solidation process in the coating machine?
UV coating involves in UV curing which is a chemical process; the liquid will change to a solid layer with the help of ultraviolet light energy(UV light). This is what we called UV coating machine
Aqueous coating or primer coating involves in IR drying which is a physical process; the liquid will change to a solid layer with the help of heat coming from IR lamps. This is what we called water-base coating machine or primer coating machine.

What are the catergories of coating machines?
From the varnish/solidation process, the coating machines can be classified into UV coater and aqueous coater.
From the relation with press, the coating machines can be classified into offline coater and inline coater.
From the applying process, the coating machines can be classified into rubber roller coater, anilox roller coater, textured roller coater, sleeve roller coater, offset plate coater etc.
From the selective coating area, the coating machines can be classified into full coating machine and spot coating machine.
From the media feeding type, the coating machines can be classified into sheet coating machine and web coating machine.
From the UV lamp type, the UV coater can be classifed into mercury UV coater, LED UV coater and Ebeam UV coater.
From the IR lamp type, the aqueous coater can be classifed into far IR coater and near IR coater.
